Travis Mercredi, Skins/Outland Sound
I'm a Metis Sound Designer from the Northwest Territories. Over the past 5 years I've run an audio business in Yellowknife doing mainly post production for film and video but also radio, theatre, music and live sound production. I've been actively involved as a board member in our art and media non-profits Western Arctic Moving Pictures and the Yellowknife Artist Run Community Centre. Through these organizations we run a film festival, youth workshops, residencies and other programming. I was also a producer, engineer and host at CKLB radio in Yellowknife from 2013 - 2015 which has programming in 5 indigenous languages as well as English.
I'm currently attending the Computation Arts program at Concordia looking to expand my skill set into web and interactive media and my interest in bringing digital skills into indigenous and northern communities which made this place a great fit after I had taken part in the SKINS workshop with ABTEC and IIF here.
